| Course Information | |||||||||
| Description | In-depth study and applications of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations using matrices. Additional topics such as sequences, series, probability, and conics may be included. This is a corequisite taken only with MATH 1314 in the same semester/ part of term. | ||||||||

**This is a co-requisite support section for students taking MATH 1314 who are not currently TSI compliant.** **Students in this co-requisite section must also be enrolled in MATH 1314 for the same semester.** Announcements and Messages:
All relevant information about this course will be communicated to students using announcements posted on Blackboard or through the "Messages" feature on Blackboard.
You will receive an email copy of each announcement, but replies to those emails will not be monitored nor receive a response. Students should use the "Messages" feature on Blackboard or their LSCPA email to communicate with the instructor; any communications from personal email accounts (gmail,yahoo,etc.) may be ignored. Weekly Learning Modules: Each week of the semester, students will be required to complete a series of video lessons which are meant to provide them with extra guidance and practice in order to help them to succeed in their College Algebra course (MATH 1314). Each assignment in these modules consists of a brief video, followed by one or two problems for the student to solve, demonstrating their understanding of what they learned in the preceding video. Each module will become available on Monday of the corresponding week, and the lessons must be submitted by the end of the following Sunday. Students will be required to show their work for each problem, either by typing up the steps they followed to solve the problem in the space provided, or by uploading a photo of their handwritten work. Please view the video provided if you have questions about how to upload photos when required. Your instructor will review your work and contact you if any serious deficiencies are noted or if they believe that revisions are needed. Other Considerations: Students in this section are encouraged to reach out to their instructor for help with any of the material that is giving them troubles in either this corequisite support section or in their main College Algebra section at any time. Students are also strongly encouraged to use the resources provided through tutor.com for additional help. It is available 24/7 and is free to use for all LSCPA students. |

| Attendance Policy | Since this is an online course and we will not be meeting in person, the rate and pace of attendance is left somewhat up to the student. It is the sole responsibility of the student to make sure that they are current and up to date in the material and to participate in all posted assignments and activities, and they are expected to do so out of their own desire to learn and succeed. The student's online participation will be observed to an extent, and for any borderline cases of assigning final grades, this record will be taken into consideration. | ||||||||

| COVID 19 Information | The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status.
